Dr. Michael Nettles

Dr. Nettles has over 25 years of experience in addictions counseling and mental health services, as well a wealth of experience in program planning, supervision, individual and group therapy.  He received his Bachelors’ and Masters’ degree in Education from the University of Alabama, Birmingham.  He also holds a Masters’ level certificate in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University and a Masters’ level certificate in Leadership from John Leland Theological Seminary.  He is a certified MRT (Moral Reconation Therapy) group facilitator.

Dr. Nettles received his Doctorate Degree in Counseling with a concentration on Christian Counseling Psychology from Freedom Bible College and Seminary located in Rogers, Arkansas.  He is a licensed clinical professional counselor in the Commonwealth of Virginia, the State of Maryland, and the District of Columbia.  He is a certified Department of Transportation (DOT) Substance Abuse Professional.  He is recognized as a nationally certified Masters ‘Level Addictions Counselor.  Dr. Nettles is an approved Counselor Supervisor for graduate students in the State of Maryland and the District of Columbia.

As a professional lecturer, motivational speaker, ordained minister, and clinical consultant, Dr. Nettles has authored the book, “From Bondage to Freedom”, which details his personal history with overcoming his own life struggles with addiction.  He also has two DVD’s “The Insanity of Addiction” and the “Twelve Step Process of Recovery.”
